Best purchase My husband ordered this induction cooktop from Amazon recently and we received it in a good condition few days back. I read the reviews from amazon yesterday and decided to open the box and give it a try though it was intended for my husband to cook omlette or egg stuffs sometimes in garage (he likes to eat egg but I'm a strict lacto-vegetarian).Installation - Very simple like a toaster oven. Just plug into 110v (check amp ratings though) and you are good to go. You might get a plastic burning smell initially but that should go away in few uses, I suppose.Cookware - I own a farberware millenium SS set thats induction friendly (disc is magnetic SS) and hand full of cast iron pots and pans. So no need of shelling out $$$s on new pots or pans. (The weird part is, I also own a so-called expensive kitchenaid 5-ply clad set that doesn't work in induction top)Ease of Use - The cooktop once connected and turned on detects the cookware if its a made of magnetic material otherwise blinks a code "EO". The default heat setting is medium (5) but you can increase or lower the heat based on your need. So far I have not tried any setting more than 5 as there's not much of a need.Cooking experience - First thing I did was boiling water. I set the heat to 5, water was boiling before even I realized. It used to take minutes in my ceramic smoothtop. This morning I boiled a cup of milk in my SS pan at setting 4. It only took 2 mins and 44 seconds for the milk to froth up, thats less than 1/2 the time what my electric smoothtop takes for the same quantity. I cooked our lunch in this single burner. It almost took the same time as I use all the burners of my electric stove, which means a lot of energy conservation. Note my electric smoothtop is pretty new and its much more radiant than a regular coil stove. I'm already in love with this tiny thing and now hesitating to hand this to my husband, may be I'll need to borrow from him when he doesn't use it. I'm now excited to rush home from work to cook dinner for my family in this "little thingy".Con(s):Only one thing that I felt bad was the space that it takes in my counter top. My home has a pretty big size kitchen so no worries but if I plan to set one up permanently, then I might need to lose some counter top space. May be I'll try to put it on top of one of my stovetop burners with a marble stone or wooden board as insulation and see how it goes.Conclusion is, if I have to order one again, I'll do that happily (hey hubby are you reading this review??). If at all you are looking to conserve energy, save your time then its a best buy. I might still buy 1 or 2 pots/pans just so I don't need to wash my used ones right away. Thank you amazon for your prompt delivery and a good price.Update after using the cooktop for 1 week:- Works like charm (better than gas) for liquids like sauces- Care should be taken when heating milk like liquids since heat is too radiant milk/oatmeal gets stuck to bottom often even at setting 3. For milk like liquids setting 2 is sufficient in my experience so far with this cooktop.- Not happy when I tried making pancake with my lodge logic cast iron griddle. The heat was so localized that it charred the middle of the pancake. I would instead go for a stove with bigger induction area if you are primarily purchasing it for omlettes and pancakes. Otherwise this is the best cooktop I've ever had.

Great product! Wish I had bought this sooner, it's great! I used this for the first time today to make pasta. I have a new 5 burner gas range and it has been taking about 30' to get a big pot of water boiling for pasta. Today I used a large Le Creuset dutch oven on my new Max Burton Induction cook top and my water was boiling in around 10 to 12' and my pasta was cooked in a total of 22' from start to finish. This was amazing to me, because I was using a heavy cast iron pan with about 5 quarts of water. I used the #10 setting to get the water boiling and then turned it down to #8 setting to finish cooking. I stirred the pot several times during cooking say 5 or 6 times and my pasta was perfect. It was simple to use and the instructions are written in easy to understand English and French. Clean up of the cook top was easy, it wiped clean with a wet dish cloth, ( there was a little condensation from the rapid boiling).Most of my cookware will not work on this cook top, but I don't see that as a problem. I have a few pieces of nice cast iron and just purchased a couple of All-Clad pieces, a 6 quart pot and 12" skillet. I can't see needing any more pieces other than maybe a small sauce pot. I cook for 4 to 7 people, depending on who is at home at dinner time.The product instructions say up to 13" pan can be used and a weight up to 50 lbs on the cook top.My gas stove really heats the kitchen up which is okay in the cold weather, but when summer comes I plan on purchasing a second one of the Max Burton induction cook tops to keep my kitchen cooler in hot weather. I hope my review helps you decide if this product is right for you. My advice is spend your money on this cook top, but don't go out buying a lot of fancy new cookware until you see what you already have at home that will work. If a magnet will stick to the bottom of your pan, the pan will work on this cook top. Also don't wast money on an induction disc, if you have to purchase something to cook in, buy a pan that a magnet will stick to the bottom of.Update 08-10-18I am still loving my cooktop! Works great, heats up fast. I have used it this year to can salsa and makes 3 different types of jam using my water bath canner that is large enough to hold 7 quart jars at once. Does not heat my kitchen up like my gas stove does. It is still one of my best kitchen buys of all times!
