Pretty but impractical I would say this secanox knife is more of what is sometimes called a "gentleman's knife" than an everyday carry knife. It is for display, not for work. The lack of a pocket clip is notable, But the inner liner lock, odd blade geometry, and excessive texture also interfere with its utility.Visually the knife is pretty impressive. The metalwork in particular is notable both on the handle and of the blade. The Damascus styling is a bit too much. Yes, it has that texturing and it is bold enough to be visible from a distance. However, the texture is not just visual. It is tactile. And I think that may interfere with the use of the knife because as it cuts, there is more friction than there would be on a smooth blade.I've included a picture of the blade surface in the sunlight so you can see the texture. It even has some scalloping which is surprising. It isn't the kind of scalloping I associate with making a blade lighter or preventing sticking. It seems somewhat random.The tip itself is something between a drop, point, and a tanto blade. There is a sharp change of angle in the taper towards the tip. This looks a bit clumsy to me and doesn't match up with the display knife quality.The handle shape and jimping are actually pretty nice with contours where I put my index finger and pinky finger, and the jimping on the back is good to prevent slipping.I'm not a fan of the inner liner lock. It makes it impossible to close the knife without having a finger in the path of the blade. The opening movement is very smooth. The thumb hole is too small and close to the handle, which makes it awkward to open this way unless you have a really tiny thumb. However, the rear lever flicks the knife open in a satisfying way. Once opened, that lever also serves as protection for your finger.I included a video of my standard test case cutting celery. This knife is a little sharper than a common kitchen knife, but not as good as my EDC knife. It seems to catch a little bit as it slices through the celery. I wonder if that's due to the texture.If it is indeed Damascus Steel and VG-10, this is a good price and it would make a suitable gift for somebody who likes a fancy knife and also places a value on the type of steel.

Stunning Knife with Serious Weight and Craftsmanship This knife is AWESOME! The first thing you notice is the weight—it feels solid and substantial in your hand, the way a good knife should. The Damascus-style blade is gorgeous, with deep, clean patterns that look far more expensive than the price tag suggests. The handle is just as impressive, smooth with rich color and detailing that makes the whole piece feel like something you’d display, not just use. The action is smooth, the lock-up feels secure, and it opens with satisfying ease. The carrying case is a nice bonus—even though I probably won’t use it, it’s well-made and adds to the overall presentation. For quality, looks, and feel, this knife is an easy five stars.

Gorgeous but practical EDC knife This Secanox Damascus Pocket Knife is a gorgeous knife.The knife is solid, durable, and although it is a little blade heavy, it feels great in the hand.The pivot on the blade is smooth and easy to operate. The ball bearing pivot moves easily with no catches or rough spots. I was able to flip the blade open with my fingertip with little effort.The lock worked as it should and it was easy to disengage to close the knife.The deep colored sandalwood handle looks great with the Damascus patterned blade. The part of the handle close to the blade also has some engraved patterns that flow well with the pattern on the blade.The knife was razor sharp out of the box and I did not need to sharpen it before use.I like the fact that this knife has both a clip and a lanyard hole to give options on how you want to carry it. I also like that it comes with an attractive carrying case.The knife comes with an instruction manual which is helpful if you have never used a knife with a flipper.The only negative I see is that the orange border on the bearing where the knife blade pivots does not fit the design of the knife and it catches your attention as much as the pattern of the blade and metal work; however, I like the overall look of the knife.This knife is an excellent value and would make a great EDC knife or as a gift for a collector.

Perfect Portable Knife for Everyday and Outdoor Use This knife looks amazing and feels well-built. It’s super portable — I can even hang it on my keychain. The blade is razor-sharp and easily cuts through meat and vegetables. I also used it while camping, and it handled cutting ropes and trimming small branches with no problem at all. Great quality and very practical. Totally worth it! 👍(Will update later after more outdoor use!)
